BizTalk Server 2009 Supports Latest Platforms, Enhances Developer Productivity

Microsoft BizTalk Server 2009 has now shipped. It introduces enhancements and new featured in four main areas:

  • Support for the latest platforms from Microsoft including server, database and development environment.

  • Enhanced developer productivity and new application life cycle management experience for development teams.

  • New capabilities for implementing agile SOA integration solutions across heterogeneous technologies and Line of Business systems.

  • Enhanced B2B and RFID capabilities to allow the implementation of flexible end-to-end supply chain management and asset tracking solutions.

BizTalk Server 2009 expands support for the latest Microsoft application platform technologies, including Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008. With Microsoft BizTalk Server 2009 Enterprise Edition, customers can further reduce the cost of infrastructure using Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization technology to run unlimited virtualized instances on virtual machines.

Integrated source control, bug tracking, unit testing, MSBuild automation support the Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) of Team Foundation Server. Also includes enhanced developer productivity with Visual Studio project system updates and map debugging.

BizTalk Server 2009 advances interoperability by providing more than 25 industry adapters. Enhanced Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) capabilities reduce the complexity associated with trusted data collection and simplify access to data.  RFID capabilities in BizTalk Server 2009 reduce the need for complicated custom coding for disparate device types. Now, you can easily extend RFID capabilities to mobile environments and experience the benefits from updated standards such as Tag Data Translation (TDT), EPC Information Services Standard (EPCIS) and Low Level Reader Protocol (LLRP).

BizTalk Server 2009 is available today to Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) customers. Customers interested in upgrading to BizTalk Server 2009 can access complete pricing and licensing information on May 1.
