Get the Release Candidate for Windows Vista, Server 2008 Service Pack on MSDN

The Release Candidate build of Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 has been released to testers. A single service pack applies to both Vista and Server 2008. It is available for testers as a standalone package, through Windows Update, and disk through MSDN and TechNet.

A Service Pack is not a feature release but aggregates some 656 hot fixes. It requires Service Pack 1 already be installed. Service Pack 2 includes:

· Hardware ecosystem support and enhancements

· Operating system experience updates

· Enterprise improvements

· Setup and deployment improvements, The SP2 standalone installer

The release date for final SP2 versions for Vista and Windows Server 2008 has not been announced.
