The public beta version of Identity Lifecycle Manager (ILM) “2” was unvelied at TechEd. ILM “2,” the codename for the successor to ILM 2007, delivers an integrated identity management (IdM) solution that extend new identity management capabilities to IT professionals, end users and developers.

ILM “2” is built on a .NET and WS-* application programmer interfaces (APIs) that enable you to build more customized and extensible solutions. ILM "2" builds on the metadirectory, certificate, and smart card management and user provisioning available in ILM 2007. ILM "2" provides Policy Management, Credential Management, User Management, and Group Management.
