Microsoft Health Common User Interface

A number of ISVs with healthcare related products have asked me questions about user interface guidelines (both in general and specific to healthcare.)  I was pleased to find that we've done some significant work on this, and that the results are freely accessible.

If you'd like to take advantage of this work, take a look at https://www.mscui.net.  There, you'll find some very prescriptive guidance for how to prompt for and display names, addresses, dates, times, patient IDs, and other data.  Adherence to these guidelines should make your products much more accessible and could provide a vital step in preparing your products for international customers.

You should note that some of this guidance applies to all industry segments, so even if you're not building a healthcare related product, the information about names and addresses could be useful.  Also, you can find this link and more like it up on the MSDN Industry Center for Health on https://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/architecture/bb231558.aspx.
