Visual Studio 2008 Toolkit for Windows Live

If you've been wanting to get acquainted with Windows Live applications, Visual Studio 2008 will include controls that help you connect with Live. A public beta of the toolkit for developers is expected in October or November. The details are part of a blog interview on LiveSide entitled Windows Live Platform: Interview With Danny Thorpe and Angus Logan.

More will be discussed at DevConnections conference in Las Vegas in early November.

Windows Live is a set of web services, such as search, instant messaging, e-mail, blogging, and photo sharing. And as a development platform it offers a new frontier for ISV's. Live offers its services in the same way that Windows OS and Office provides application programmer interfaces (API's). You can learn more about this on the Windows Live Developer site.
