Doug Mahugh

Doug Mahugh is a Microsoft Technical Evangelist specializing in the Office Open XML file formats. He is also the moderator of the web site, where Open XML developers share tips, techniques and source code for a variety of development platforms.


His background in software development started in the 70s, at The Boeing Company as a Fortran programmer. Through the 80s and 90s he worked in 80x86 assembly language and FoxPro as an independent consultant specializing in bar-code tracking systems for large corporate filerooms. Clients included Ernst & Young, KPMG Peat Marwick, The Chicago Board of Trade, Marmon Group, Motorola, Helene Curtis, and Allstate. After a few years of developing and maintaining a custom line-of-business system for a large wholesale auto auction starting in 2000, he joined Microsoft in 2005.


Chris Predeek

Chris Predeek is an independent consultant and trainer for Developmentor who has been working with Open Office XML since 2005. His software development career started in the late 90s as a C++ developer for the windows platform. He’s used Microsoft technologies through COM, COM+, and finally to the .NET platform. Recently he’s been specializing in Office 2007, SharePoint 2007, and BizTalk 2006.


Prerequisites: To participate in the hands-on labs, you will need to bring a laptop with Office 2007, Visual Studio 2005 SP1, and .NET Framework 3.0 preinstalled.
