Visual Studio 2010 – Installation, 2005 support and new Patterns

I’ve been a bit busy lately and I’ve been catching up on interesting things, so this post is a bit of a selection of miscellaneous stuff that caught my eye:

A really interesting blog from Brian Harry on the success and failure rates of installing and upgrading Team Foundation Server 2010. Worth noting that a client OS (Windows 7) is the most popular installation platform.

Visual Studio 2005 support for TFS 2010 is now available for download.

I’ve also downloaded the pack of Patterns for the Architecture Layer diagram. It’s simple and effective and I like it as a quick way to get some common architectural patterns into a layer diagram. Here’s the Common Application Pattern – the layer diagram was created with a single click:

I’m off to DevWeek tomorrow (and speaking) but have loads more bits and pieces to post soon.

Cheers,
Giles
