Expression Web & Expression Blend free for MSDN Subscribers

As a result of attending a number of MSDN Road show sessions in the last few months, I am very aware that many MSDN subscribers were unhappy that we were not going to ship the Expression products as part of the MSDN Subscription.

We felt that as Expression is a product aimed at Designers and MSDN is a product aimed at Developers, the two products are aimed at very different user communities. However, I think that over the last few months we have learned that the boundaries between these two groups of people are actually very blurred.

As a result, I am pleased to announce that we will ship Expression Web and Expression Blend as part of an MSDN Premium subscription. Full details can be found at Somasegar's WebLog

You may be asking, what about Expression Design and Expression Media? Expression Blend and Expression Web are both designed to help creative professionals and developers work together to create rich user experiences for the Web, Windows Vista applications and beyond. As Expression Design and Expression Media are not directly intended for application development, we feel they fall outside the current scope of MSDN Subscriptions. We will be watching usage and collecting feedback of these expression products to help make further decisions in the future.
