Having graduated in 1989 with a BEng Hons in Electronic Engineering from Sheffield University, I started out writing closed loop control system DSP assembler code and schedulers. I then moved to work in Sales Management and Business Development with first Integrated Systems and then Wind River at the intersection of the collision between, RTOS, Portable Devices, Telco Networking and J2ME.

Since joining Microsoft I've put this experience in both sales & software development lifecycle (SDLC) tools to good use in leading the Developer Tools revenue team.

An ex rock-climber and mountaineer, I'm a keen triathlete both competing in swimming, biking and running events and coaching club members in the 3 disciplines. Any other free time I have is spent reading (think Neal Stephenson, Ian Rankin & Ian Banks), gaming (think MMORPG), and gardening.
