Live Mesh Released in the UK!

So what is Live Mesh?

As part of Windows Live, Live Mesh enables you to connect all your devices, such as your work PC and your home media centre! You can turn your home media centre on and stream music to your work PC, whilst sat at your desk! You can link your Windows Mobile phone up to your laptop or PC. All UK users with a Live ID can visit www.mesh.com , then go to log in and try out Live Mesh. Simple!

What are the benefits?

Live Mesh is simple and easy to set up, you merely install it onto each device you wish to incorporate into your personal Mesh and you’re away. This means you are able to spend less time sending yourself work, links and managing files between computers. Mesh does the hard work of connecting the files so that you are then free to engage freely with your friends, family and colleagues with access from anywhere.

Live Mesh can also do wonders for your social life as you can easily invite people into your folders, allowing them to stay up to date with your photographs and pieces of work! This way you can share last night’s photos easily with friends and colleagues; there’s no need to keep sending files as they are already stored! Perfect for those group tasks!

You can also stay up to date with activities and deadlines, as well as seeing when others have updates their own folders! There’s no need to panic about security though, your password is secured to allow only you and those who you invite to share access to, can access with your Windows Live ID.

This is a Technical Preview and currently does not allow developing on the platform until the Live Mesh is released, however if you are interested you can join the SDK application list.
