New updates to the OneNote Class and Staff Notebooks

The OneNote Class Notebook Creator is one of the most popular and versatile Office 365 tools currently being used within education. Allowing students and teachers to host and access course materials, set, complete and provide feedback on assignments, take notes in a personal space or work collaboratively on any device - all within the Office 365 environment - OneNote is a significant enabler of anytime anywhere learning.

In order or keep pace with the expectations of 21st century learning, we are continually making improvements to the OneNote Class Notebook Creator, many of which are the direct result of feedback the team receives from educators all over the world.

Earlier this week the OneNote team announced some new additions to the OneNote Class and Staff Notebooks, which have already begun to roll out globally. These are summarised below, but for more details on each of the updates please refer to the original post on the OneNote in Education Blog:

Summary of our January 2016 updates

    • Class Notebooks—Co-teachers can now add or remove students to a Class Notebook.
    • Staff Notebooks—Staff leaders can now remove staff members or notebook co-owners and co-owners can now add or remove staff members to a Staff Notebook. In addition, Active Directory security group and Office 365 Group support is now offered.
    • Legacy SharePoint Store app for the OneNote Class Notebook Creator—Ability to remove students.
    • Legacy SharePoint Store app for OneNote Staff Notebooks—Ability to remove staff members.
    • OneNote Online—The top requested feature, Image crop, was added as well as the ability to unpin notebooks from the notebook list.
