The latest app from Microsoft Education partner Learning Possibilities is LP+365. Over the last few weeks we’ve been taking a closer look at the LP+365 through a series of blogs provided by Learning Possibilities, including interviews with the team behind the new app, and teachers who have been given access ahead of the general release. One week before the launch of the app on 1st December at our Microsoft UK HQ in Reading, we have another post from that team, this time an interview with Mehool Sanghrajka, CEO at Learning Possibilities, to find out how LP+365 can maximise the investment made by schools worldwide on Office 365.
What was the vision behind building LP+365?
Learning Possibilities has over 10 years’ experience in delivering engaging learning platforms on Microsoft Technology in the LP+ Cloud. Our technology is used by thousands of schools in England and Wales with marked outcomes on learner engagement, collaboration and acquisition of digital skills. I wanted to bring this technology to the hundreds of thousands of schools on the Microsoft Cloud as I was sure they would get the same educational outcomes. We started a collaboration with Microsoft on this project earlier this year and I am delighted to see the LP+365 app working well, having just showcased it in Asia at the Bett Show.
What do you think LP+365 brings to Office 365?
Office 365 is a tremendous set of tools and resources for schools. LP+365 organises these tools in the way schools like to consume them; with pre-populated class and subject sites, each with assignment, resources, collaboration tools, and dashboards giving you alerts and overviews. Simply put… it transforms Office 365 into your school LMS.
What do you think schools will value the most about LP+365?
Its simplicity. The App is organised in an intuitive manner, which means that both teachers and learners will be able to access their particular content quickly and easily.
What’s your favourite feature on LP+365?
I have two: firstly, I like the Windows Mobile App that we have built for LP+365. It offers users offline access so they can carry on using LP+365 and their content even if they don’t have Internet access. I think this will open up digital learning to millions of children. And secondly the built in support and professional development for teachers within LP+365 to help them use the App and give them ideas on how to get the best out of it.
What should we expect at the launch event?
A lot of excitement and a few surprises! Please come along!
