Townhill Junior looks a the new market leading LMS – LP+365 from Learning Possibilities and Microsoft
by Denise Phillips
As a teacher, I am always on the lookout for resources for my school. When I heard about Microsoft’s Office365 for Education, I was excited to see that a school could get Email and personal storage free for all their staff and pupils. I attended a Microsoft Innovation day recently, and was shown the benefits and uses of OneNote and Office 365, I loved it, especially the real time collaboration through OneNote Class Notebook. Having Office 365 in schools has meant that students will have access to tools and services used by the ‘working-world’ meeting the needs of our global economy.
However it was not until I came across Learning Possibilities LP+365, that I began to see the full potential of Office 365. It is literally a virtual school. I can set up each user and give them permissions using data from my SIMS database. From this information students and teachers get a personalised menu of the subjects they need access to.
Each user has an individual and personalised dashboard showing calendar, assignments, mail and other information. The subject sites have assignment tools and the LP+ menu ribbon will make collaboration in the class easier. (Blogs, Wikis, Surveys and Discussions).
I also saw the inbuilt support menu that gives access to technical support and resources, and some training materials. All of which are imperative if I am to make the most of the teaching and learning possibilities that Office 365 and its tools offer.
LP+365 from Learning Possibilities will be launched at Microsoft Offices in Victoria, London on 9th October 2015. Come and see the possibilities of this new LMS built on Microsoft technology by registering your attendance to the FREE event here.
