Last month we announced the commencement of this year’s Microsoft YouthSpark Challenge for Change competition, which will eventually see 10 of the entrants winning a life-changing, two-week, travel experience to Nicaragua to learn about leadership and social change (among other prizes). The competition is closing this week, so we’d just like to remind you of what is up for grabs and how you can enter. (Details below)
Challenge for Change is a global contest hosted by Microsoft, that encourages 13-25 year-olds to think about how they can affect positive change in their communities, and to consider how Microsoft tools and resources could help them do more. 30 finalists will win a Surface Pro 3 with Office 365, and ten grand prize winners will win a life-changing leadership development trip to Nicaragua, $2500 to help them turn their ideas into a reality, a Windows Phone, and the opportunity to be a Microsoft YouthSpark Advocate!
The competition closes on Wednesday 25th March at 1600 GMT, so if you have an idea that you think is worth pursuing then there is still time to enter, but you’ll need to act fast! Anyone wishing to submit their ideas will need to answer the following questions and submit a current photo:
What cause do you care about most? Why?
How do you support (or would you like to support) this cause?
How could Microsoft technology help you do more to support this cause? Please be specific – give examples!
If you won the prize package, how would you use it to do more good?
Full details for how to enter and a breakdown of all the prizes can be found here:
There have been thousands of entries so far, already surpassing the number we received last year, with submissions coming from over 90 countries all over the world including the USA, India, Nigeria, the UK, Canada, Nepal, Bangladesh, Mexico, Pakistan and the Philippines.
We’d like to thank everyone who has entered so far, and we’re really excited about seeing who makes it into the finals! We’ll reporting back with news of the finalists in due course, but if you have an idea that’s just itching to get out then there is still time to submit it – after all, it win you a trip to Nicaragua!
Thank you to everyone who has entered so far, and good luck!
