Microsoft OEM partner Lenovo are currently giving teachers the opportunity to win 15 ThinkPad 10s for their school. The competition encourages them to create a video that encapsulates what learning means to them. But if you want to be in with a chance of winning these devices you’ll have to hurry, as the competition closes this Friday 19th December!
Lenovo are encouraging teachers to be as imaginative as possible by asking them to create a video that completes this thought:
Clearly this leaves things wide open for teachers, and allows them to produce a video that fully reflects their own personal approach to education, and how they view the relationship between teachers, the subject matter, students, and the overarching process of learning that binds all these elements together.
Videos should be anywhere between 20 seconds and 2 minutes long, but don’t need to be cinematic masterpiece. It’s all about the thoughts of the teachers and what learning is to them… So think ‘Best Script’, rather than ‘Best Picture’! That said, there are a few brief technical guidelines from Lenovo that anyone entering would be wise to take a quick look at:
Begin by saying / showing ‘Learning is...’
Film on a good camera or a decent smartphone
Encourage colleagues to enter
Show anyone under 18 in the video
Film in very low light
Make it too complicated, simple works
Leave it too late and miss out
Remember, the competition closes on Friday 19th December, so get your thinking caps on an start recording!
