Following last week’s blog post detailing the new version of Outlook for Mac, we have more good news for teachers and students using Office 365. OneDrive and OneDrive for Business now offer unlimited storage, which comes at no additional cost to Office 365 subscribers.

Not just a local storage space-saver, OneDrive ensures that you’ll always have access to all your important content from wherever you are and from whichever of your devices you are using. Working collaboratively is also made possible thanks to all your files being stored safely in the cloud where others can access, edit and co-author single documents at the same time.
Having an unlimited amount of storage for readily accessible files and documents is a formidable asset for both students and teachers alike. For teachers continually receiving and keeping submissions from lots of students, running out of storage is one less thing to worry about. Being able to access all this content from any of their devices makes reviewing, editing and marking course materials and students’ work increasingly flexible.
For students, collaborative work is becoming more commonplace. Trying to collate and manage source materials and resources for large scale projects via email threads used to be an incredibly arduous task, and when working from different locations (and on different devices) it could further complicate the issue – especially when people made edits to and circulated an already out of date iteration of a file.
With OneDrive there is always just one source of truth available across all your devices. This is just one of many reasons why the value of cloud storage really comes to life when it’s integrated with the tools you use to communicate, create and collaborate. That’s why OneDrive and OneDrive for Business are included as part of Office 365—built right in for students and teachers to use.
Thanks to unlimited storage being available to Office 365 subscribers, there is now less of a reliance upon the hardware itself having such a large capacity. This means that there are workbooks, tablets and laptops that are perfect for students who need to run the full Office suite, without costing the earth. We’ll be reviewing some of these low-cost devices in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for them!
