Become a Microsoft Technology Associate with IT Academy & Partners in Learning

Are you looking forward to the impending arrival of the Computing curriculum with some trepidation? Are you thinking about how you can develop not just about the skills of your students, but your own skills? Are you interested in developing an industry standard qualification in your school? Then we may have a possible solution to these and many other questions.

IT Academy provides industry-leading technology skills curricula and certification to help bridge the skills gap. With Microsoft IT Academy, institutions get digital curriculum and certifications on fundamental technology skills. These courses are ideal for students to be successful in today’s technologicallyimage evolving world. IT Academy covers Professional development for staff, with a full curriculum for teaching technology courses, and learning tools. This along with technology skills and certifications to allow students to be college and career ready for today’s technology-centered job market.

We would like to invite 5 teachers to undertake part in a little experiment, where they will get to try a sample course for free. Many of you may be familiar with IT Academy and its Microsoft Office Specialist certifications, but there is whole additional set of curricula that focus on the developer aspect of computing, the Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA). We would like to offer for free the opportunity for 5 teachers to take the Software Development Fundamentals course, which is part of the IT Academy MTA, which will lead to a Microsoft certification. This course provides CPD including access to sessions of online learning, learning support material and advice. The course is linked to the AQA GSE examination in Computer Science

The total package equates to approximately £500 worth of CPD, which we are offering for free.

Qualifying criteria

· A teacher in a UK school or college (state or independent)

· Join the Partners in Learning Network, its free!

· Have little or no experience in programming

· Your school currently is not part of the IT Academy programme

What is the commitment?

· Commit to complete the study.

· Commit to presenting to SMT/SLT on the course and IT academy as offering for students and staff.

· Commit to taking the certification which would be paid for by Partners in Learning

· Produce a Blog post or case report on completion of the course
