West Hatch High School students receive standing ovation from judges on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent

I have to admit that from time to time if I can, I will tune into ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent just to see a glimpse of those who really do have exceptional talent, usually wishing that I too could sing, dance or entertain like those who go on to do really well in the competition.

A couple of weeks ago I sat and watched what I can only describe as one of the most outstanding singing duo’s I have heard in a long time. It was not until this week that I made the connection that Jonathan Antoine, 17 and Charlotte Jaconelli, 16 are students at West Hatch High School, who I have worked closely with in the past at events such as BETT 2012.

Jonathan and Charlotte performed The Prayer by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli, bringing the entire audience including all 4 judges to their feet in a standing ovation, at the Hammersmith Apollo.

Being described as ‘’World Class’’ by Alesha Dixon and ‘’Incredible’’ by David Walliams, all 4 judges gave them a ‘’Yes’’ to the next stage of the talent competition.

Ginette Brown, head of music at West Hatch School taught both students for 5 years and said ‘’both Jonathan and Charlotte are exceptionally talented performers who have beautiful voices and great careers ahead of them.’’

I’m sure all those associated with West Hatch High School are extremely proud of Jonathan and Charlotte’ achievements so far. I for one will be following them on their journey through this competition and wish them both every success.
