We are very pleased to share the announcement that effective immediately, students in the UK and well over 100 other countries around the world are able to access and use Microsoft Azure for free, allowing them to develop or deploy sites and apps to the cloud, at no cost and with no credit card required.
As some of the familiar faces in the Code.org video from last year testify, programmers and coders are that “great coders are today’s rock stars of the future”, so it is in everyone’s interest that we nurture these young creative minds and give them the best possible environment in which to flourish and built our future. The Microsoft Azure offer for students provides a number of rich features that will make it easy to develop websites and web apps in the cloud. By learning to develop, publish, and maintain a live web project through an enterprise-grade cloud service and learn more about web analytics with the included Application Insights service, students can acquire and hone valuable skills that will be crucial for their future careers as developers.
The Azure for Students offer was announced by Scott Guthrie earlier this week, and you can learn more about the offer itself, and how to get started by watching this short video, and by referring to the content below from the Microsoft Azure for DreakSpark page:
