With the UCISA conference now almost upon us, we are looking forward to a thought provoking and productive 3 days in Liverpool debating the core themes of the conference – our business, our services and our future.
The UCISA conference is always a highlight in the education teams calendar and we look forward to catching up with customers and partners at the event.
As with previous years, we are running a business showcase session on the Thursday afternoon of the conference in Hall 4B at 2.45m and 4pm. The title for this year’s session, delivered by Steve Rogers from Coventry University, is ‘Going beyond virtualisation: How Coventry University modernised their management platform and saved money with Microsoft System Centre 2012’ and addresses how the university has updated and refreshed all of its server infrastructure using Microsoft System Center 2012.
"My UCISA session will be focusing on Microsoft System Center 2012 and how Coventry University consolidated all of its infrastructure management and monitoring products in to a single suite of tools. I will also provide an overview on how these technologies have helped us a business and the cost savings we have achieved by simplifying server and desktop deployments, better I. T staff resource management and responding to incidents" – Steve Rogers, Coventry University
The business showcase session promises to be a practical and insightful look into how Coventry University streamlined their infrastructure and saved money. We hope you can join us!
Beyond the Business Showcase session, we are also really excited about attending the University Showcase session being run by University of West London on their UCISA-EduServ Award for Excellence 2012 winning Office 365 for education programme.
The session is being delivered by Mauli Arora and Suraj Uturaju from UWL and talks about how they used Office 365 for education to transform the student experience through a new student portal, offering a more personalised, interactive and social learning environment. We are really proud of the work the team at UWL have done with this project and look forward to hearing more from both Mauli and Suraj on Wednesday afternoon!
On our booth at the event this year, we are showcasing a selection of devices from Lenovo (including the Helix) and discussing how Office 365 for education can help students learn from anywhere and access content from any device, browser or platform.
Additionally, we will also be supporting our friends at Janet with the latest announcements around the Janet Amendments for Office 365 Education document pack. The pack, which offers an agreed set of customised documents, focused on Data Protection, helps FE and HE institutions to harness the benefits of Office 365 for education more efficiently. This saves both time and money as Janet have already conducted due diligence on our terms and conditions for Office 365
If you have any questions about the packs, or want to see first-hand some of the recent changes to Office 365 for education, pop by our stand (#38) and say hi. We look forward to seeing you there!
