Shared learning for maximum benefit to local councils

Chris Anderson, CTO at the City of London, talks to our journalist Helen Olsen about the benefits the City has gained from joining the Shared Learning Group (SLG). Prior to joining the group, the council had evaluated the CRM market, opting for a Microsoft solution - at the same time committing to a Microsoft infrastructure by buying an enterprise agreement. By standardising on tools provided within this agreement, rather than using third party tools, Anderson's team is now making significant savings. At the same time, working with SLG partners and sharing developments among the group is helping the City to gain maximum benefit from its technology infrastructure.
