Unified Communications – Bolton and Gartner

Unified Communications is definitely one of the IT buzzwords this year. In fact, according to Gartner, it's one of the six mega-trends that will emerge in technology this year and, according to their research, the hyperconnected enterprise is the way forward.

I am not sure if Bolton Council consider themselves a ‘hyperconnected enterprise’ in the Gartner sense but they are certainly making significant progress in using unified communications to achieve their strategic aims, according to this profile from the NCC.

If you are considering the future of your communications infrastructure and would like to know more about how it can bridge the gap between telephony and computing to deliver real-time messaging, voice and conferencing in an integrated solution, Microsoft is running a series on Unified Communications seminars in March. You can  get more information and details on how to register here and find out more about Microsoft’s Unified Communications strategy and products here.
