OneNote Class Notebook updates include read-only parent or guardian access and Collaboration Space permissions

We are continuously impressed by the passion and creativity of teachers and students who are using our tools. A common theme we heard was how OneNote continues to save teachers time and enhance collaboration in the classroom. In our conversations, we learned that parents and guardians are also curious to learn more about OneNote to help engage with their students’ learning progress. To address the top requests we heard from teachers, administrators and parents/guardians, we’re pleased to announce the release of four new features in OneNote Class Notebook.


BETT 2017 Guest Post: Skooler – Learning Management Tools

Skooler offers expertise in using Office365 in the classroom alongside teaching tools such as personalised learning plans, medium and long term planning, absence/attendance registration, assignments and tests to name a few. Parents are kept up to date via the Parental portal. All the tools are safely hosted in the Microsoft Azure cloud.


BETT 2017 – The Microsoft Partner Campus

The Microsoft Partner Campus is an outward expression of the strong practical and creative two-way bond which exists between Microsoft and their partners, who are regarded as contributors to development as well as the ‘sharp end’ deliverers of solutions. This year we have 21 partners, offering a very convenient hub within which visitors can explore a range of digital solutions to common school-based problems.

Microsoft School Data Sync (SDS) and Teacher Dashboard for Microsoft Office 365 at Ribblesdale High School

Ribblesdale High is a Lancashire secondary school that is living up to its Microsoft Showcase School status by piloting, for proof of concept, Microsoft School Data Sync (SDS) and Teacher Dashboard for Microsoft Office 365. Supported by two Microsoft partner businesses, the school demonstrates that SDS makes it possible to populate classroom applications – in this case Microsoft OneNote Class Notebook, and Teacher Dashboard from Axis12 — automatically and quickly with details of pupils, classes and groups held in the school management system.


MEC Monday: Class Hacks from #HackTheClassroom

We’re back with another ‘MEC Monday’ blog post, bringing you some highlights from wide array of courses, activities, materials and lesson plans that can be found on the Microsoft Educator Community. Last week we took a look at the training course ‘Introduction to Microsoft Classroom’, which comprises three interactive tutorials, followed by a quiz to assess understanding of the material, as well as earn participants points towards their MEC badges.
