OneNote Class Notebook updates include read-only parent or guardian access and Collaboration Space permissions

We are continuously impressed by the passion and creativity of teachers and students who are using our tools. A common theme we heard was how OneNote continues to save teachers time and enhance collaboration in the classroom. In our conversations, we learned that parents and guardians are also curious to learn more about OneNote to help engage with their students’ learning progress. To address the top requests we heard from teachers, administrators and parents/guardians, we’re pleased to announce the release of four new features in OneNote Class Notebook.


BETT 2017 Guest Post: TeacherIn – “Shaking up the recruitment space to better support learners”

Continuing our series of guest posts from Microsoft Partners exhibiting at BETT 2017, we have a contribution from another partner who can be found in the Microsoft Partner Campus. Ian Fordham announced as new Director of Education for Microsoft UK

Microsoft has hired one of the UK’s top education technology leaders to lead its work in the sector. Ian Fordham, currently CEO of Edtech UK and a Mayor of London Tech Ambassador, will join the company in January as Director of Education. He will oversee Microsoft’s work involving schools, colleges, universities and other learning organisations.


#MIEExpert WEBINAR: Light up your classroom with Sway

After a short break for half-term, our series of live and on-demand webinars led by teachers continues this week with a session hosted by Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert Paul Dredge, as he demonstrates how Sway can enhance learning. During the half hour session you will be given an overview of how to use the app, and a variety of other tips and tricks for using Sway in your classroom, as well as a live demonstration and tutorial.

Register for the Global Education #Skypeathon – November 29th & 30th

Next month sees the return of the hugely popular Skype-a-thon! Last year, teachers and students from all around the world covered over 3 million ‘virtual miles’ during the 48 hour global event, and this year we’re hoping to beat that record! There are a number of ways in which you and you students can take part in the Global Education Skype-a-thon on November 29th and 30th, with thousands of activities available through the Microsoft Educator Community and Skype in the Classroom.
