ADC SoundBytes: Optimising Silverlight 2 Performance

Here at the ADC Team we are constantly listening to our customers and trying to offer better ways to meet their needs. As part of this continuing improvement, we're just about to pilot a new offering known as “SoundBytes”.

SoundBytes are short, focused, technical sessions aimed at developers and architects, delivered by an Application Development Consultant over Live Meeting. Attendees are given time to ask questions, and afterwards will receive a copy of the material presented in the session.

In the future we intend on running sessions on a variety of topics, but the first one will be run by Chris Barker, co-author of “Silverlight 2 for ASP.NET Developers” (due for release shortly). It is entitled “Optimising Silverlight 2 Performance”, and will be run on Friday 30th January 2009 from 11:00 – 12:00 GMT. If you are using or are considering adopting Silverlight 2, we recommend attending to get an understanding of how you can maximise the performance of your applications.

The session is charged at the rate of ½ hour from your ADC contract per attendee, If you require further information on this subject after the event, you can of course engage with the ADC team as usual to setup a suitable session.

If you do not have an ADC contract, but do have a contract with Premier that includes proactive hours, you can pay with 1 proactive hour instead. This is a great way to sample the ADC service, and see how we might be able to help you.

Abstract

 As applications and web sites become “richer” more functionality is hosted in the browser, in many cases within Silverlight 2 applications. Although this provides a great User Experience, care should be taken that the responsiveness of the application is not compromised. This SoundByte is focused on ensuring that Silverlight 2 applications perform well, maintaining the Rich User Experience. It requires reasonable knowledge of Silverlight 2 and .NET programming.
