Azure Deep Learning and ND, NC series with NVidia

ND and NCv2 Series VMs generally available

ND-Series virtual machines (VMs) are specifically designed for the needs of artificial intelligence (AI) and Deep Learning workloads, offering excellent performance for training and inference:

p40

They are powered by NVIDIA Tesla P40 GPUs based on the new Pascal Architecture and provide excellent performance for FP32 (single precision floating point operations), for AI workloads utilizing CNTK, TensorFlow, Caffe, and other frameworks.

The ND-Series also offers a much larger GPU memory size (24 GB), enabling to fit much larger neural net models.

P100

They are:

Powered by NVIDIA Tesla P100 GPUs.

Ideal for traditional high-performance computing (HPC) workloads that will benefit from a performance boost, powering scenarios like reservoir modeling, DNA sequencing, protein analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, and others.

Capable of providing more than twice the computational performance of the current NC-Series.

ND-Series VMs are available in the West US 2, East US, West Europe, and Southeast Asia regions. NCv2-Series VMs are available the West US 2 and East US regions and will be available later in December 2017 in West Europe and South Central US.

NCv3-Series VMs in preview

N-Series VMs are ideal for compute and graphics-intensive workloads:

Fuel innovation through scenarios like high-end remote visualization, deep learning, and predictive analytics.

N-Series VMs feature the NVIDIA Tesla-accelerated platform and NVIDIA GRID 2.0 technology, providing the highest-end graphics support available in the cloud today.

NCv3-Series VMs feature the NVIDIA Tesla V100 GPU for general HPC as well as AI workloads.

NCv3-Series VMs are available for early customer access. To sign up for the preview, please complete the Access to Azure Next Generation GPU VMs online form.
