A New Year's resolution worth keeping

I rarely, if ever, make New Year's resolutions.  Even more rare is a resolution that I keep (except for one I made last year to make $1000 in the stock market - which I did, several times over).

This next resolution is actually practical, I am going to improve my Unix skills this year.  Working at Microsoft, sharp Unix skills have never been necessary.  I know the basic commands like grep, sort, cp, mv, etc, but next on the list are powerful stream editing tools like sed, and then next on the list would be awk.

I have an iBook now (bought it used) but it has a Unix-like OS window shell on there.  I think it will be much easier now to develop my Unix skills on my own time.
