So I’ve been tagged twice… I blame both Don Sorcinelli and Andy Beaulieu for tagging me and making me bare my soul to the world. Since I have been tagged twice I figure I have to tell you 10 things you may not know about me.

1. I grew in Baltimore city where my parents still live.

2. I attended a small private school in Baltimore called Boy’s Latin for both elementary and junior high. Where my nickname was “Baskin Robbins”. Well looking back on it kids aren’t very original.

3. As a child I was in awe of the Planet of the Apes movies. I remember one particular Christmas where my favorite present was the tree house set and the Planet of the Apes action figures (yes action figures and not dolls an absolutely important distinction) that included the battery powered horse that you could make walk forward or backwards. It was a great Christmas that year!

4. I attended City College High School in Baltimore where in my sophomore year I was a member of the cheerleading squad. Yes in those days I sadly thought it would get me more dates. At last that is what my mother told me. In case you were wondering – it didn’t!

5. At age 16 I wanted to get my ear pierced. However, when I discussed it with my father he said it was fine but that he reserved the right to reach through my other ear to remove the earring. Needless to say that to this day I don’t have a pierced ear.

6. At the age of 17 I bought a pair of parachute pants at the local cool clothes store. Yes I wore them once in the store and then they sat in my closet.

7. The first job that I ever held in the computer industry was actually as a VAX system operator. Kind of scary to think that I was in charge of so much hardware and software. I worked the midnight to seven AM shift. Well actually slept a lot more than I worked.

8. My favorite music is Heavy Metal. If you checked my playlists you would find the likes of Rob Zombie and Coal Chamber. The louder the better.

9. My very first programming language that I got paid to write code for was MUMPS.

10. While I should say that I am reading some fantastically complex technical manual on something like IL of VB to impress you after this list of potentially damaging information. In reality the current book I am reading is the Cell by Stephen King

I feel so much better getting these rather important and potentially damaging facts out to the world.

Now I have to tag five people – Paul Andrew, Richard Turner, “G” Andrew Duthie, Ani Babaian, Adam Machanic your it!
