  3. Lukas Beeler says:

Aww. I finally got my first official beta invite, and now Prometric is making my day miserable.

When trying to login i get the message:

"Duplicate emails. Please call customer service."

When trying to call the customer service number for Switzerland i get (translated):

"The number you’re calling is unavailable. Please check the number and dial again."

I just hope Prometric can get this fixed before the end of the beta period.

  4. Pierre says:

thanks a lot for the info, i posted it  on my site and just didn’t translate it since it IS in english all the way!

best regards, looks i’ll be busy studying for this one myself!

    Thanks a lot to Trika!

whoohoo go hyper-v!! who needs ESX anyway!! :)

  6. Thanks Trika! I’ve been watching, laying in wait for something like this to surface!

I’m glad that it has so soon as well! :)

I put myself out a week, so I might have the opportunity to get some study in, as opposed to those ‘overnight’ type of exams…

    Christopher

  7. Peter Read says:

Oh man, I go and book ISA 2006 TS for 2 weeks time and now I’ve gotta find time for this one too…

Let me know if it gets extended so I can reschedule and ease off a bit! 😉

  8. Carlos_Felipe says:

The link to find exam preparation information is not available yet (http://www.microsoft.com/learning/exams/70-652.mspx). So, what’s the best stuff/way for studying?

  9. Thomas says:

    Thanks again, Trika! I’ll attend…

  10. Thomas says:

What’s the point of the regional restriction? That’s as odd as the fact that you can’t sit exams in China or India if you happen to be a foreigner there.

  11. helmer@hznet.nl says:

    @Thomas : I’m not exactly sure, but they’re commiting fraude at large scale (that’s what I heard)…

  12. Priscila says:

    Hi Carlos Felipe,

If you have access to Microsoft E-learning, there are these two links that have study material.

i wish i had some spare workfree days to dedicate to this one!

    i just got one and i don’t think it’ll be enough :(

  17. Peter says:

    Hi!

Thanks for the tip! Is there some offline content except the webcasts to prepare for the exam? Just asking, because we go on vacation and on 19th I will take the exam, but have no Internet before. Thank you very much in advance!

    Kind Regards

    Peter

  18. plabonte says:

Is there a study guide for this exam?

  19. Ray Aslin says:

typically beta exams don’t have much in the way of true "study guides" – I spend most of my time looking at webcasts, blogs, googling, and playing.

good luck folks – I’m scheduled for the 23rd (procrastination is a wonderful thing)

  20. jtb says:

Trika you are the bomb!  All our base are belong to you!!

  21. GustavoG says:

Leyendo el excelente blog de Trika sobre las certificaciones de Microsoft, encontre esta información

  22. trikah@microsoft.com says:

I’m glad you think this is nice. I didn’t do anything, just for the record. I have nothing to do with these – I just post it if Jim or Jeff or Rob tells me we’re good to share with the public.

In fact, I cringe at posting any beta stuff, because then I get all these questions and it freaks me out. But, OK, you’re welcome.

    My pleasure.

  23. Covax says:

Unfortunately promotional has been exceeded. (Only two days passed) Is there any other promotional codes? :) I would really like to try this exam…

  24. Luke says:

    Covax,

Promotion Code exceeded when I tired yesterday as well. It was suggested by someone that I try again after a couple days.

  25. I just had some people check (I’m unable to check as I’m signed up) and it looks like the voucher is still valid – Looks like it was either re-opened, or maybe a typo or problem before? :)

  26. I couldn’t register yesterday, but I’ve had no problems today. I’m on for next Tuesday, I’ll let you know how’s the experience!

  27. Nos metemos de lleno en la época de la virtualización. Parece que fue ayer cuando probé la primera versión

  28. Bit disappointed, had registered to do this exam for this morning; when I got there was told that Prometric’s server was broken and couldn’t do it. Tried to rearrange with Prometric but was told that, as this was a beta exam, I couldn’t rearrange it despite not having actually taken the exam.

Oh well, guess I’ll have to wait for it to become a live exam – I guess that won’t be for another three months or so?

  29. Covax says:

Yes, I’ve just registered for this exam. Will take it next week! :)

I found a lot of technical information here: http://blogs.technet.com/virtualization Check it out!

  30. Covax says:

    YES!

I’ve just registered for this exam! Promo code still works!

  31. EricD says:

I just took the exam, and it looks like a nice exam. sturdy enough not to let everybody pass, but easy enough to pass if you have enough Hands on experience.

  32. Luke says:

Sweet! It worked for me now as well!

  33. today i did this exam, It is quite a sturdy exam, where at least you had to know the software. it was

  34. Oscar says:

still works :) I do the exam on monday 😀

  35. Umar says:

Well I just found this ,

I have booked it for the 16th gives me a week !

Any material to help me ?

    Thanks Guys

  36. Bueno, bueno, bueno, ayer hice el exámen 70-652 en modo Beta ( ver entrada anterior ) y creo que puedo

  37. Ricardo Fernandes says:

Today i went and stated to do the exam… when i was in the 40th question with two hours left i received a message saying that i had only 5min to finish the exam, when i clicked ok, puff, i wasn’t able to finish or review!

Now i’m waiting for a reply from Prometric to explain what happened? And if i still can repeat the exam! Never happen before, Trika can you say what’s going to happen?

    Best Regards

  38. trikah@microsoft.com says:

That is SO lame, I’m sorry to hear that happened. While you’re waiting for Prometric to repsond – will you please report this problem to MSLEDP@microsoft.com so someone on our side can be aware of this type of issue? Sorry again for the trouble and I hope it gets resolved really quickly by Prometric.

  39. Ricardo Fernandes says:

    Hi,

    Done the report to MSLEDP@Microsoft.com!

The Test Center couldn’t do nothing to then report to Prometric, they said that was the first time that happen something like this!

But problems aside, from the questions i could done, i could say the exam is quite nice, simple, direct and technical, didn’t find ambiguous questions or dubious, that’s great!

    Best Regards

  40. jtb says:

Hey Trika!  I finished the exam today.  Can you tell me my score (quickly ducking behind a large building)…

Seriously, I just wanted to say thanks again for the heads-up!!

  41. Very cool. I’m booked for Friday and my son studied with me and wants to take a shot at it too… *if* he passes, this would be his first MCP / MCTS exam ever.

It’s exciting to see him excited about something that I do :)

  42. Jim K says:

I took the exam this morning.

    No technical issues

    The staff was great

The questions were (mostly) pretty straightforward.

I went through some of the elearning content but some more hands on experience probably would have served me well.

Good luck to all that take the exam.

  43. Edwin says:

    Hello

As I’am just reading this (holiday). I hope this beta will be extend.

The only free option is Monday but then I have a different training.

    Let us know ?!

  44. Ray Aslin says:

That was an interesting exam.  When is the "gold" exam suppose to release (approximately)?  Last time I took a beta – results didn’t publish until the day before the gold exam released.

Thanks for the heads up on the exam – taking the beta is alot of fun, and a great way to learn (googling and playing with a product is more fun that traditional studying anyway)

  45. Gonzalo says:

Today I took the exam, everything works ok. Thanks for the beta and now it’s time to wait for the results.

    Gonzalo

  46. trikah@microsoft.com says:

Greg how’d you and your son go?

  47. Luis Arnauth says:

I took the exam in the 20th of June and the same thing happened to me as to Ricardo. On the 25 question (something like that) a popup warned me that i only have 5 minutes to finish the exam. When i click OK the exam was over. As you answered Ricardo I’ll send an email to see what can be done.

    Thank you

  48. Packetboy says:

Is there a minimum age limit to sit Microsoft exams?  I remember years ago there was a 14 year old MCP.. Its cool Greg your getting your son into it but I think there should be a minimum age of say 18yrs old otherwise I think it lowers the value of the certification…

  49. Packetboy says:

To explain further the reason why I think it lowers the value of the cert is because its pretty obvious that anyone under that age has had no commercial experience with the product…

  50. Ricardo Fernandes says:

    Hi,

Until now no one respond to my problem, Trika! Nor Microsoft or Prometric!?

My friend had the same problem!

Moving on… when will the results be ready?!

    Best Regards

  51. trikah@microsoft.com says:

Hi, Ricardo. Can you please forward your e-mail to me (the one you didn’t get a response to?) thank you.

    Don’t know about results…

    Just curious!

    Packetboy.. :)
