Publishinghouse Five

Dear budding IT-Vonnegut,

last call to attend the “becoming a technical author” Live Meeting today. The morning session was good. Three people I really like (true story!) spoke about why and how you can get involved with Microsoft Press and MSDN (and other publishers) to start or further a writing career. Presenters were Ken and Linda, the Laurel and Hardy of Microsoft Press, and Howard Dierking of MSDN Magazine (no stranger to charming your socks off).

Here is the link, if you’re interested. Register for 5:00 PM PST –(What time is this in my region?).

And so it goes.

I listened in earlier today and I thought the information provided was great.  It answered the main question I had about how do I get started.  I’m also a marathoner like one of the presenters so I totally identified with the analogy of starting out walking, then short races, and then finally long races.

Argh!!  I missed it.  Crap.  Will the Live Meeting(s) be archived anywhere so I can still check out what was discussed?

  3. Karl says:

I’d like to watch the archived meeting too.

  4. Ray Frangie says:

    Me three…

I must say, Howard had quite a spiffy photo for his intro slide. I can tell someone put some effort into making it look good, so my compliments to whoever that may be. 🙂

(Some of the other photos are unique in their own special ways. 😉 )

Aaron, glad you liked it. I’ll pass that on.

Beaveyone, Karl, You snooze, you lose.

Alice! Were you on the call? I would have said hi.

Beaveyone and Karl, I regret speaking to you like that. To make it up to you, I"ll post the recording link tomorrow. Don’t hate!

I was in the later call.  Great job to all of you!  It was really informative and I can’t wait to get started now!
