Setting up an AD RMS Environment at Home – AD RMS Server and Vista Client

I’ve been continuing through the steps to get my environment up and running. I completed the task of creating a virtual PC instance of Windows Server 2008 that will act as my AD RMS server. I was able to add this server to the domain after manually setting the ip configuration. Additionally, I created a virtual PC running Windows Vista Enterprise. I joined this machine to the domain as well. Now I have the following machines:

  • Domain Controller – running on WS 2008

  • AD RMS Server – running on WS 2008

  • Database Server with Sql Server – running on WS 2008

  • Client – running on Windows Vista

I’ve completed all of the tasks for setting up the infrastructure outlined here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc772140.aspx

The next step is to install and configure AD RMS.
