13:30 Introduction by Luc Van de Velde, DPE Lead at Microsoft Belgium & Luxembourg and Surya Vanka, Manager UX Excellence at Microsoft Corporation
The businesses the most successful today are those that consistently create and deliver compelling end-to-end experiences that delight customers time and time again. It’s clear that designers have a hugely important role to play in helping ensure that businesses are better informed and inspired by a deep understanding of their customers. This session will discuss the pivotal role that designers have to play in this new world. On the one hand they need to be the virtuosos capable of orchestrating a fast-paced, collaborative, and multi-disciplinary experience, and on the other they need to act as agents of change helping businesses to grow their design IQ.

15:50 Designing Rich Client Experiences by Dick Lantim, User Experience Evangelist at Microsoft France
Expression Studio allows designers to create compelling UIs for the Windows Desktop and for the web. The Studio offers a complete set of tools, including Design, Blend, Web and Media, which enable designers to work closely together with developers. Developers can use Visual Studio which offers a top class development environment. Because of the tight integration of the platform and the tools it is a very compelling environment to have various disciplines work together building the next generation applications with a rich user experience. This presentation provides an overview of the tools and the integration.
