Kicking It Off

Hello All,

My name is Tom Krueger.  I am very excited to begin blogging and sharing my technology experiences (good and bad) with everyone.  I enjoy learning about new technology and figuring out how to apply it to real world situations.  Currently I am stoked about mobile technology.

A little about me.
My professional background is in enterprise application development where I have held titles such as Senior Software Engineer, Architect, Consultant, and Program Manager.  Currently I am working with Jonathan Wells in the .NET Compact Framework group at Microsoft where part of my job will be helping fill community needs by answering questions and building sample "Smart" applications.  If you are in the Seattle area and attend the .NET Developer Association or the DotNetUsers.org you have probably bumped into me.  I also am leading the .NET Certification Study group with the DotNetUsers.org.  Outside of work, I am an avid sailboat racer currently racing J/24's on Lake Washington.  I love volleyball, skiing, hiking, and of course my fiancé Marie.  My newest found passion is rock climbing, it is amazing how simple it looks but how challenging it can be.  It's all about solving problems, I love it.

The main focus of my blog will be on software development utilizing Microsoft .NET technology where I will post tips & tricks, problems & solutions, etc in the following areas:

  • .NET Basics
  • .NET Compact Framework
  • ASP.NET
  • Smart Client Development
  • Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO)
  • WindowsForms.net
  • XML/XSLT

I look forward to sharing with you and learning from you.

Tom Krueger
