Feel irritating of the unwanted delimeters appear in your search result of Search Core Results web part?
The special character picks up by the SQL Server Full Text Search which SharePoint search crawler is using. You can try to use Business Data Catalog to expose your data source to SharePoint Search. In this case your data source can be exposed as a web service so you can write some code to hide the delimiter from BDC (and SP Search for this purpose).
