Worldwide Media Exchange

This is cool - don't know why I haven't come across it before... From the website:

The World-Wide Media eXchange (WWMX) is a centralized index of digital photos, where photos are tagged by the geographic location where they were shot.  It's an experimental research project run by the Interactive Visual Media Group at Microsoft Research.  

I could imagine a project like this really taking off - it's one of those great viral ideas that spreads once the word gets out. The client application is a great example of a .NET Framework WinForms application too. I've been working on something similar for the locality where I live, but it's not quite the same scale :-)
