My Team is Hiring

Time for a commercial break,

If you read this blog you probably know what I do.  If it is something that you would like to do for a living, now is your chance!

My team (the Microsoft EMEA Internet Support Team) is hiring.  We are primarily looking for a new team member in France (Paris/Les Ulis), but the main criteria apart from good skills in troubleshooting and specifically in the Internet sphere (IIS, ASP.NET etc.) and good customer service skills, is that the applicant speaks fluent French in order to be able to support our French customers in their local language.

Our team also has support engineers in the following locations

Hungary - Budapest
Spain - Madrid
Italy - Milan
Sweden - Stockholm
Germany - Munich
UK - London/Reading

If you happen to be fluent in French, possess all the other skills, and live in one of the locations above, you are welcome to apply as well...

There is also a job opening for the same position in Spain (no French required, but fluency in French is a plus:))

What do we do?

A typical case for a member of our team ranges from "Our enterprise site goes down when the load is high" to "How do I implement a custom impersonation method in my ASP.NET application" to "I need a workshop on AJAX". We work mostly with Premier customers, i.e. customers with special enterprise level support contracts which means that we very very seldom or actually never get any questions that you would associate with "helpdesk" type support.

We work in an EMEA (Europe Middle East and Africa) team, so no matter where in EMEA you are located you belong to the same EMEA wide team.  We also work closely with our global counterparts, and with other teams world-wide at Microsoft.  

What do I like about the job?

This is going to sound like a marketing spiel, but anyways...:)

As you have probably gathered from reading my blog, debugging and troubleshooting is not just a job for me, it's something I love doing. Apart from that I thoroughly enjoy the customer interaction and the fact that being at Microsoft I have access to a lot of information, a lot of very knowledgeable people, and new cool stuff that I wouldn't have outside of Microsoft. Paraphrasing the old song, I can check out any time I want, but I would never leave:)
