Today's MIEE Spotlight is taking a look at the work of Assistant Head Teacher, Alex Handy, from Caludon Castle. Alex is passionate about the role that technology can have across his school to make planning more efficient and effective for teachers.
Alex utilises OneNote effectively to organise his school data as well as to record student marks in his 'Digital Mark Book'. Alex is most excited about using 'Flipped Learning' in the classroom by creating videos on PowerPoint and sharing these with his students, fostering engagement in the classroom. The Surface Pro has been effective in supporting the students in exam technique and show how they can improve this with the use of digital inking on the Surface Device.
Alex has been integral in Caludon Castle by supporting the teachers in his school to adopt the use of Office 365 effectively, by engaging them in exciting ways! Check out his webinar where he discusses how to launch O365 within a school, focussing on how to attain authentic by in by staff.
Due to his great expertise and innovation, Alex was chosen as one of the top teachers in the UK to attend Microsoft's Global Teacher Exchange in 2017 in Canada, to share his great practice with teachers all across the globe!
