I had a Microsoft partner ask me about SQL and Exchange support on Hyper-V earlier today – being that when I say something it’s “Microsoft said…” I had to find the official KB/TechNet articles to refer to.  Well after spending about 20 minutes searching I finally the articles I was looking for.  Well enough of that!  KB97006 is the golden KB, it describes all of the software supported on Hyper-V including Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint and about 20 others…

SQL Server 2008 Books Online: Hardware and Software Requirements for Installing SQL Server 2008
SQL Server 2008 is supported in virtual machine environments running on the Hyper-V role in Windows Server 2008 Standard, Enterprise and Data Center editions.

Sharepoint
Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 Service Pack 1 and later versions are supported. Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 1 and later versions are supported.
