C|Net Showcase: Tablets, Slates, and Netbooks

Michael Scherotter Holding the new Toshiba Libretto W100

Tonight I went to a very cool event at C|Net in San Francisco, a showcase of tablets, slates, and netbook computers.  After a panel discussion lead by Rafe Needleman, we got to see new tablet, slate, and netbook devices from Archos, Asus, Nvidia, Panasonic, Samsung, and Toshiba.  My favorite device was the new Toshiba Libretto W100 Dual-screen PC (shown here) which runs Windows 7.  I really like how they adapted Windows to the dual screen interface that can be opened like a book, tilted like a laptop, or laid flat like a slate.  This device should be out in August 2010.

I put the Libretto on my open journal for size comparisons – when open, the journal is 15” wide by 11” high.
