RTM of Visual Studio 2008 and .NET 3.5 SP1 now available!

Today Microsoft announced the release to manufacturing of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 SP1 and Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1.

This Service Pack is not a traditional service pack, which usually consists of bug fixes and performance improvements.  While Microsoft did fix some bugs and dramatically improved performance in several areas, Microsoft also decided to introduce several of the most-requested new features into the .NET Framework via this service pack: the .NET Framework Client Profile for faster deployment of Windows-based applications, multiple enhancements to ASP.NET, support for database application development through the ADO.NET Entity Framework and the ADO.NET Data Services. Furthermore, with SP1, Microsoft brought Visual Studio 2008 into alignment with the new features in both the .NET Framework and in SQL Server 2008.
