App of the Week - Aviary Photo Genius

In this week's edition of our App of the Week series, I would like to introduce you to a very handy app called Aviary Photo Genius. Some of you might be familiar with Aviary from their completely awesome flash web applications. These web applications allow you to create and edit everything from images to video and audio. There even are separate applications for vector graphics, photo effects and color adjustment. If you have ever used such an app, I'm sure you where impressed by the photoshop-like desktop feeling Phoenix for instance managed to deliver. Unfortunately though, the creators behind Aviary decided to discontinue their browserapplication development. As a consequence, the webapplications are only available until the 15th of November (here). Instead of their advanced Flash editors, they now are fully concentrating on their mobile app called "Photo Genius".

Photo Genius provides you with suggestions to improve the quality of your photo and it can also directly adjust your pictures. Apart from this "auto-correct" feature, there are plenty of other functions available to edit your pictures on your Windows Phone. Features include:

* One-tap auto enhance
* Gorgeous effects
* Add text and fun stickers
* Color balance
* Crop and rotate
* Adjust brightness, contrast, and saturation
* Sharpen and blur
* Cosmetic tools: fix redeye, remove blemishes and whiten teeth

As far as I can tell, these are all the basic photo editing features I need in my pocket and that for FREE! Now that the whole Aviary team is dedicated to this mobile app, rest assured that they will continuously add new tools and features.
