Shape - The App Conference

Hi all!

Some times ago, there was a really cool conference organized by Microsoft Switzerland called Shape. In this blog I like to give you some impressions about this event, because in my eyes every student who likes to code for Windows Phone 7 or Windows 8 should visit an event like that from time to time.

Shape took place in Zurich Oerlikon and was visited by around 300 developers. There were a lot of very interesting sessions about Windows 8, Windows 7.5 and Game Development. If you missed the opportunity to follow the sessions, you can find the presentations and speaker contacts here.

Part of the event was also the nomination of the winners of the first Microsoft Switzerland App Award. Two of the four lucky winners were students, who developed really nice apps. On this site you can find the winner apps including a picture of the four winners. If you also like to get the chance to win an Award... KEEP CODING! :) Next year you will get a next chance!

At the conference you also had the possibility to have a look at Windows 8 Consumer Preview running on Slates from Samsung, hold them in your hands and play around. And it was cool! :) As we were lucky to get one of these little machines, we will test them for you and blog about our experience with Windows 8 on a Slate.
