StreamInsight November CTP Refresh released!

As many of you have noticed, the November CTP of SQL Server 2008 R2 has been released about two weeks ago. StreamInsight, being part of the SQL Server suite of products, has been part of that release as well. However, we want to make sure that you are able to work with the latest bits, and so we already published our November CTP Refresh , which contains further fixes and improvements.

Our first public release, StreamInsight CTP2, was well received and generated a lot of excitement. Many of you provided great feedback through the forum as well as in email conversations. We would like to encourage you to also use SQL Server Connect to communicate your feedback. All bugs, issues, and feature requests submitted through this tool will go directly to the development team. Connect is the most efficient channel for you to educate the product group about the features you need and expect as well as to contribute to the quality of the product.

The improvements over our previous beta include

  • New extensibility API through user-defined aggregates and operators
  • Declarative specification of CTIs through AdvanceTimeSettings
  • More temporal windows in LINQ (and other LINQ improvements)
  • Improved error messages and exception handling
  • Many debugger tool improvements
  • New samples

This release of StreamInsight provides the documentation (also online on MSDN) and the samples package as part of the installation. We strongly recommend to use the samples to become familiar with our product and its capabilities. Moreover, the StreamInsight Forum is a great place to discuss questions and issues with the community and the development team.

We would like to thank you for your continued interest in StreamInsight and are very much looking forward to your experiences and feedback!
