The Stream Analytics team is pleased to announce several new features available today.
Support for Event Hub Consumer Groups
Last month’s update added REST API support for specifying Consumer Groups on Event Hub inputs and this is now surfaced in the Azure Management Portal. Consumer groups enable multiple consuming applications to each have a separate view of the event stream, and to read the stream independently at its own pace and with its own offsets. When consumer group is not specified, Stream Analytics jobs will use the Default Consumer Group to ingest data from the Event Hub. Note that associating your Stream Analytics job with a specific Consumer Group is the way to work around the 5 receiver maximum limitation that many customers have reached out to us about on the forum.
Support for Statistical Functions
Based on customer requests, we have extended the built-in functions for the Azure Stream Analytics Query Language to include the statistical functions VAR, VARP, STDEV, and STDEVP.
You can now specify the internationalization preference for a Stream Analytics job, which affects how the job will parse, compare, and sort incoming data. This setting is available on the Configure tab of a job.
Globalization and Localization
The Stream Analytics extension in the Azure Management Portal is now available in the following 11 languages: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish.
