Business Applications Sessions at Build 2019

Developers from all over will be coming to Seattle to learn more about the new tools and technologies being created to help developers build the software and services that continue to fuel the ongoing transformation of industries and experiences. I have been involved with Build, and prior to that PDC, in various capacities for many years and on May 6th when Satya starts the day with the Vision Keynote I will be just as excited as I have been in previous years. Build provides an amazing stage to highlight the incredibly broad range of building blocks that developers are leveraging, including what’s new in the area I’m currently focused on which is the Business Applications and Power Platform space. For those of you who will be attending Build and are interested in diving deeper into these areas, here are a few sessions that you might be interested in, including an end to end overview of this area that I’ll be leading on Monday afternoon.

Future Business Apps in Power Platform, Dynamics and Office

Monday May 6, 2019 2:00pm – 3:00pm

https://mybuild.techcommunity.microsoft.com/sessions/77082

I will be leading a session with Orville McDonald and Justyna Lucznik to discuss how to create the latest in business applications. It will be an end-to-end session starting with getting insights from your data using AI and Power BI. Then it is followed up with using the Power Platform to connect data, create apps with no “cliff development” and then get deeper into the code to create a custom app.

AI in Power BI

Wednesday May 8, 2019 10:00am – 11:00am

https://mybuild.techcommunity.microsoft.com/sessions/77088

For the past few years I have seen many companies create AI solutions without first getting their data estate in order or getting the insights to determine how best to prioritize their scenarios. Power BI is a great way to do BI before AI and now with AI infused experiences in Power BI you can get deeper insights into your data.

In this session learn how to develop business apps, extend with custom visuals and then to package and publish on AppSource for distribution.
