New Foursquare app and Cortana - a great match

Continuing a theme of partnership, I’m pleased to share news from the collaboration between foursquare and Microsoft.

Foursquare, now available on Windows Phone, complements Swarm by offering a better way to find great things around you with all of the features foursquare users have come to expect from across all devices. Back in August, we launched Swarm for Windows Phone.

Evolving from that work, Swarm and Foursquare will now work seamlessly together to help people keep up and meet up with friends, and help people discover great places. Foursquare learns what you like and leads you to places you’ll love and this experience is even better on Windows Phone 8.1 – because foursquare and Cortana work just as seamlessly together as foursquare and Swarm do.

What does this mean? For users, it means that all of the great things that foursquare learns to you keep up to date, Cortana learns and can share with you, as well.

This is a highlight of the power of Cortana’s Proactive Canvas – the service that delivers content to a user when looking at or receiving Cortana’s suggestions. With the help of foursquare, Cortana can now proactively recommend foursquare suggestions, on top of the usual suggestions of flights, weather, news, etc.

No other app today can offer this level of integration with the world’s most intelligent personal assistant.

Download the app here to experience the new foursquare and its power when coupled with Cortana.
