UML & Design World

Last week I spent at UML & Design World .  I did several sessions.

Monday: I co-led a tutorial with Jack Greenfield  on Software Factories.

Monday: I moderated a panel session on "Approaches to Model Driven Development", with Jack Greenfield, David Frankel, Juha-Pekka Tolvanen, Robert C. Martin and Jon Kern.

Tuesday: I led an in-depth class and demonstration on Building Domain Specific Languages for Visual Studio.

Thursday: I appeared on a panel "UML - Where is it Going?" moderated by Granville Miller . The other panelists were Bran Selic, Scott Ambler, and Jon Kern.

Overall the reaction at the conference to our work was extremely positive. There was a lot of interest in DSLs and in software factories, especially the pragmatic aspects of how they deal with actual development activities such as writing code.
