The Boys Are Back In Town

The biggest rock band in the world are back in town – literally spending much of this week it seems just down the road from me at the BBC in Wood Lane etc. They’re a bit marmite like these fellas – you either love them or hate them. Personally I’m in the former of those camps.

As for their new album, it’s growing on me. I don’t like Get On Your Boots too much but there are some other tracks on there that are really beautiful and show The Edge’s class as a guitarist more than ever. They’ve gone in to promotional overdrive with this release and you can get the full album delivered to your PC via Spotify – nice to see them embracing the tools of the new generation.

For those of us here in the BBC licensing paying vicinity we’ve been treated to a lot of U2 this week – today in particular. They played 3 tracks in the Live Lounge and literally just finished a brief gig on the top of Broadcasting House (gutted I missed it). Later tonight they appear on Jonathan Ross and I fully expect him to quiz them about Twitter

The boys are most definitely back in town.
