Laptop security - it's not that difficult

I was chatting with Bill Goodwin from Computer Weekly today and he mentioned that Reed are starting to join the blogosphere and hence I found David Lacey's excellent blog on security. I'm sure Steve Lamb is aware of it as our resident security blogger but I just pinged him the details.

The post I have linked to is a good read on the threat that is continuing to be exposed by the mainstream media of laptop theft/loss. In the wake of the recent Nationwide laptop theft it's something that actually provides a useful platform to talk about some of the work that has gone in to Vista to help combat the issue - technology such as BitLocker and existing capabilities to mitigate data loss on external media.

David mentions that "Good laptop security is not difficult, it’s just a matter of simple common sense and prudent countermeasures" - which I agree with but not everyone has common sense on this stuff so we're working hard to put more capability in the products to help the IT guys.
