Mobile Acceleration Week Kicks off in San Francisco

Mobile Acceleration Week is back in the Bay Area, beginning a nine city worldwide tour through the U.S., Europe, and Asia.  The event began in full Halloween spirit on Monday, October 31, with a group of 14 top startups building apps with more tricks and treats for Windows Phone users.

The event is being broadcast live via Twitter (#MAW) and our Mobile Acceleration Week website.

Similar to our past events in New York City, Mountain View, and Washington, D.C., Mobile Acceleration Week helps a group of high potential startups build applications on Windows Phone.  The event features dedicated technical support, including assisted coding, 1:1 workshops, and UI design consultations.  Every startup attending will receive new Windows Phone devices and AT&T SIM cards, as well as free tools via Microsoft BizSpark.

In addition to technical support, all startups will benefit from PR training and will have the opportunity to pitch their applications at the end of the week.  At the end of the program, startups will have their applications featured on the Windows Phone Marketplace to drive downloads, as well as receive special considerations from the Microsoft Advertising team.

We’re excited about our largest Mobile Acceleration Week to date and welcome all 14 startups to the program.  Congratulations!
